Is A Free Opt In Email List Worth It?

Free Doesn't Always Mean Crap
Free is always better when you are marketing on a tight budget, and a free opt in email list can work. You can use free tools to build your own lists as opposed to buying a list from someone else. This is always a better idea anyways because you know that you are marketing to someone that has already seen your product.
How Easy Is It?
The plan in simple. Build a website of your own with your products. Somewhere on the site put in a spot for people to place their email address. After people do this, there are a couple different things you can do with the list. Autoresponders are becoming increasingly popular. This lets people know that you appreciate them stopping by to look at your site. It also puts the website in front of them. You wouldn’t believe how many people go surfing on the web and find something they like. For various reasons they don’t buy it right away, and then they can’t even seem to find the site again. With an autoresponder they have the website address right there in front of them in their inbox. That way if they want to come back and buy the product later, they know how to find it.

You can use a free opt in email list to market similar products as well. For example, you have a website set up with herbal remedies and you recently acquired a new product. This product hasn’t been on your site for very long, so people aren’t really seeing it. With the list you can send out emails to the list you built from your site specifically advertising the new product. You can also cross reference your lists. If you have a list of people that are interested in face cream, you can advertise herbal remedies to them that help with complexion.
Using a free opt in email list is all about the details. You should realize though that you aren’t going to want to send out tons of emails to the same lists. You also don’t want to send them all out on the same day. If you have three different types of products to send emails out for that are all on the same website, you should send the emails out at different times. No one likes advertisements flooding their inboxes. If you do that you are more likely to be ignored and deleted before they even open the email, or even worse, labeled a spammer. If you choose to only send out an email once or twice a week, they are more likely to read them.
